Review:

Green Theme International, a CHECtravel club and available in seven languages, is a member of the First Home Exchange Alliance (FHEA) which includes Home Base Holidays, Guardian Home Exchange and Invented City. All four organizations share the same database. Green Theme International's goal is to promote home exchange as "an environmentally friendly mode of travel." On its Company Information page, it is noted “Home exchange is a concept right for our time making maximum use of existing resources.”

All listings are current; both the registration and expiration dates are shown. For added security, and to protect members' privacy even further, all contact between GTI members is done from within the private member area (an alert message is sent whenever there is a new message from a member). Sent and received messages are stored in folders, with on-going correspondence with each member stored separately for easy reference. In fact, member security seems to be the hallmark of the FHEA alliance.

Green Theme has recently added maps to each listing which makes it easy to see just where the listing is located. It would be nice if they would add a map based search also. The reverse search, while accurate, might work even better if a pill down list were available.

Green Theme's owner makes a concerted effort to ensure customer satisfaction. 85% of their listings have pictures. Updated 02/10
