HomeForExchange is a well run and organized site. The club makes it easy to find a swap and is loaded with usable features. A unique on line contract between swappers records all aspects of the pre-swap planning as well as information about the swap house. In addition, HomeForExchange offers an insurance policy that offers accommodation reimbursement should the swapper cancel an exchange.

They have also joined the trend in home exchange to offer ratings of individual exchangers and offer rewards for referring new members. There are quite a few recommendations (542 as of this writing) but they do not seem to be searchable in any fashion. It would be good to have some kind of indicator of a recommendation on the listing. The search engine is very precise and allows one to find great matches down to the city level (house, apartment, size, etc.).

Not only are unlimited captioned photos allowed, but unlimited videos as well. On each page listing there is a Google map showing the location of the property (though only on the city level and it is not zoom-able). MThere is a nice map based search. New listings are emailed to members weekly.

HomeForExchange has a tracking system that allows a searching member to see which member s/he contacted and when. We found this useful when trying to arrange a swap. The site includes images on 96% of their listings. (Updated 4/10)
