Detailed Review

Review:

RIDEF International Home Exchange Service, a recent CHECtravel club, was founded by Swiss physicist and University professor Mark R. Siegrist in 1996. There is no charge for listing. They do offer several interesting features. RIDEF allows members the option to display contact information to nonmembers. They have an excellent system of updating – gray listings are older than 1 year, black younger, as welll as a membership date on each listing. All listings older than 2 years are removed. There is also a very detailed membership application.

RIDEF is an open site, which means that members can be contacted by non-members. It has a fairly active forum and an email alert system when new listings are posted. Listings can be sorted by date or location. When a potential swapper contacted me who was not a member of RIDEF, the email was forwarded with a warning that it was from a non-member. I liked that feature. Pictures on their listings are few and far between (about 10%).Ridef has recently added a blogUpdated 02/10
